Can I drink alcohol on Keyto?

Two of the most important aspects of the Keyto program are having fun and enjoying life. It is perfectly fine to have alcohol on the program!

A couple things to remember with alcohol:

  • There are net carbs from alcoholic beverages (and they count)
  • There are calories from alcoholic beverages (and they count too)
  • Mixers are also a source of net carbs
  • Your tolerance to alcohol may be lower on the ketogenic diet
  • Drinking alcohol can cause you to eat foods you otherwise would not
  • Always enjoy responsibly

Now that you know the watch outs, let’s look at the keto-friendly options and those that should be avoided.

Keto-friendly alcoholic drinks – always drink in moderation

Spirits – vodka, whiskey, tequila, gin – 0 g Net Carbs

Dry Wines – Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc.  3-5 g Net Carbs
